Jewelry Model Imagery Requirements
Unless otherwise provided by the client, Tangiblee offers a variety of stock model and lifestyle imagery to be used within the widget. Stock imagery is acquired from Adobe Stock or Shutterstock.
When searching for model imagery, ensure that the following requirements are met:
- Preferred image quality of at least 5000 x 5000 pixels and 300 dpi. Minimum 3000 pixels for the smallest side.
- The more pixels, the better.
- Ideally, the width of the image should be equal to the height of the image, so it's easier to work with the proportions of the image when cropping (if necessary). Or the width of the image can be greater than the height of the image (proportions 1200 x 1050 pixels). Images that are too narrow are not suitable, when inserting the image in the widget, the product displayed might be too close to the edge of the widget, which isn’t an ideal way to display the product.
- The angle of the model must match the angle of the product image used from the product page.
- Photography should be front facing as best as possible
- The image is fully in focus (no blurry, out of focus parts).
Bracelets & Watches
Adhere to the following points when selecting/sharing images for Bracelet & Watch category support:
- The model's wrist must be bare.
- The wrist or hand should be front facing so that the product can be placed correctly (remember that we use 2d product images). The hand on the model image should be horizontal, or at a 45 degree angle.
- The field of focus of the model's hand is critical. This prevents blur around the product.
- The body part should be as close as possible to the center of the photo. Avoid photos where the placement point is in the top/bottom ⅓ of the photo. This allows optimal use of the Tangiblee zoom function.
- Images should be cropped parts of a model so that the main focus is on the product.
- Existing bracelets/watches can easily be removed from images by the Tangiblee team.
Earrings
Adhere to the following points when selecting/sharing images for Earring category support:
- Images showing the same side of each model's face are ideal. Moderation/new products will be added more efficiently if so.
- Face angles are crucial for earring models. Profile images (face from the side) are ideal.
- The ear should be located in the middle of the image, this facilitates further work with the image and provides a better display of the product on he model.
- Hair must be pulled back/tucked behind the ear.
- Shadow and light should be the same and uniform throughout the face of the model.
- The field of focus of the model's ear is critical. This prevents blur around the product.
- Existing earrings can easily be removed from images by the Tangiblee team.
Rings
Adhere to the following points when selecting/sharing images for Ring category support:
- The hand and fingers should be as opened and flat as possible
- Bent/folded/rotated fingers are not optimal unless they are in the same plane.
- There should be a small distance between the fingers in order to make room for the product, and optimally place it.
- The field of focus of the model's hand is critical. This prevents blur around the product.
- Shadow, body hair and light should be consistent and even; light tones will not provide optimal shading or realistic rendering in Tangiblee.
- Existing rings can easily be removed from images by the Tangiblee team.
Pendants
Adhere to the following points when selecting/sharing images for Pendant category support:
- Model must have limited bust coverage.
- Chokers are allowed as long as they don’t cover the middle of the chest.
- Only front-facing images are supported, as the pendants will be placed in the middle of their chest.
- Shadow and light should be the same and uniform across the model's chest/neck.
- The field of focus of the model's chest is critical
- This prevents blur around the product.
Necklaces
Adhere to the following points when selecting/sharing images for Ring category support:
- Model images must be horizontal showing the model from neck to hips in order to be able to display necklaces of different length.
- These images can be zoomed in for default widget open upon demand.
- The field of focus for the model's chest/neck is critical. This prevents blur around the product.
- Shadow and light should be the same and uniform across the model's chest/neck.
Multi-Category Stacking
When selecting model imagery for jewelry multi-category stacking:
- It is crucial to adhere to the guidelines provided for each jewelry category in this guide above.
Example: for on-hand jewelry (bracelets, watches, rings) and necklaces, please, make sure to check that model imagery meets requirements of the following sections: Bracelets & Watches, Rings, Necklaces.
- For on-head and on-hand experience, the model's hands should be above the waistline.
